Women's History Month Concert: The Lili'u Project

Starr Kalāhiki has been working tirelessly on The Lili’u Project, which is dedicated to bringing new attention to the story, music and poetry of Queen Lili’uokalani. This music presentation is about love, healing, forgiveness, loss, beauty and gratitude. These two incredible Hawaiian women, Starr Kalāhiki and Queen Lili’uokalani, both committed to building awareness and recognition to Hawaiian self-determination, are a testament to the strength and power of the legacy of the Hawaiian Nation. Joining Starr on the stage is John Signor and Honybal Sosa. Also, members of the local DC Native Hawaiian cultural organization, H̄alau O Hokuʻolino, contributed to the program, including musicians Alan Distajo and James Manley. Susan Tatham and Mia Cravalho are the hula dancers. This program was webcast and recorded in the Potomac Atrium of the National Museum of the American Indian on March 12, 2016.
