Description
Pinback button featuring the logo of the Washington Nationals baseball franchise. The button is attached to a red, white and blue ribbon marked “Detroit vs. Washington” and hanging pendants representing a bat and ball. The button represents the American League’s Washington Nationals, also known as the “Senators.” The button might commemorate a late-season matchup with pennant implications against the Detroit Tigers from the 1945 season.
In 1961 the Nationals relocated to Minnesota, becoming the “Twins”. ashington's current "Nationals" team, formerly the Montreal Expos, is in the National League.
