Description
This spring scene shows a traditional spring weekend of people enjoying the cherry blossoms. Viewers sit on blankets and stand beneath the blooming branches as they enjoy nature and look out onto the ocean. Hiroshige creates a linear distinction using blocks of color, a red horizon, a stripe of blue ocean, the black rooftops, and yellow clouds that hover just above the green grass.
