Summary
Skylab was launched into low Earth orbit in May 1973 and occupied until February 1974 by three-man crews on three different missions. Several onboard tool kits contained a variety of tools and supplies for basic repairs and maintenance tasks that the astronauts might need to do while in space. These items are part of a duplicate tool kit from the backup Skylab orbital workshop displayed in the Museum. Each tool fits securely into a foam pad to keep it in place in weightlessness.
