Summary
This urine transfer assembly flew on Skylab 3 in 1973 as part of the waste containment system of the spacecraft. Astronauts urinated through the rubberized roll-on cuff, and the bag was emptied of urine by connecting a hose from the spacecraft to the small black and gold connector. The system collected urine in a tank, which was routinely vented into space.
NASA transferred this urine transfer assembly to the Smithsonian in 1976.
