Object Details
depicted
Clinton, Bill
Dole, Bob
Description
“The Great Debate” was the media label given to the first debate in 1996 between Democratic candidate President Bill Clinton and his Republican challenger Senator Bob Dole. This mechanical tin toy was a humorous take on that name. When the lower bar of the toy is moved, the two figures rock back and forth jabbing at each other. Clinton was successful in his bid for re-election.
