Token, Commemorative, Lindbergh, King Collection

A medal with a small ring attached to the top of the metal. Stamped onto one side of the medal is an image of the Spirit of St. Louis flying over water. The word "Welcome" is printed at the top just below the ring. The bottom of the medal has the text "Non stop New York Paris Flight." The reverse of the medal is smooth with the words "Abekkevold Engraver New York" engraved into the surface.

On May 20-21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh literally flew into history when he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in his Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, thus becoming the first pilot to fly solo and nonstop from New York to Paris. This flight made Lindbergh a household name and catapulted him into fame and celebrity.
