A silver colored coin with a small hole punched into the top of the coin. One side features a tall building and the text New York and the Eiffel Tower and the text Paris. Between these two structures is an image of the Spirit of St. Louis flying along a dotted path that leads from one to the other. The reverse of the coin features text "COMMEMORATING THE FIRST NON-STOP MONOPLANE FLIGHT ACROSS THE ATLANTIC OCEAN FROM NEW YORK TO PARIS BY CAPT. CHAS. LINDBERGH

On May 20-21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh literally flew into history when he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in his Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, thus becoming the first pilot to fly solo and nonstop from New York to Paris. This flight made Lindbergh a household name and catapulted him into fame and celebrity.
