Description
Ginger-colored earthenware. Paneled hexagonal body, short-faceted spout that curves, and circular lid with flattened knob. Bronze handle in the form of two dragons rising upward screwed-into posts on shoulder. Front and back decorated with branches of cherry blossoms in in white, blue-gray and brown slips on the ginger ground. Shoulder and top underglazed in burnt sienna. Bottom and interior: glazed; clear. Top, lid, and spout: speckled overglaze; gilt accents.
