During the 1990s between surfing contests she began appearing in surf movies with her cinematographer husband Bill Ballard, and earned her reputation as one of the best woman’s tube riders in the world. In 2007 she placed 1st in the X-Games in Puerto Escondido, Mexico and used this Channel Islands surfboard during the 2008 season on the Pro Women’s Surfing circuit. Still surfing in 2012, she placed first in the Women’s Division ISA World Masters Surfing Championship.
