Description
Landscape sketch showing a view of a dramatic sunset over the Hudson River Valley, looking south from the artist's estate near Hudson, New York, known as Olana. Immense, orange-yellow crepuscular rays dominate the sky, punctuated by blue-green streaks through which the dim sky and a crescent moon are visible. The Catskill front range, also known as the Catskill Escarpment, is visible in the background at right, with the peaks of Overlook and Plattekill Mountains prominently featured.
