Summary
This 3-kopek stamp honors Yuri Gagarin, the first man to orbit the Earth. On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin rode in a Vostok spacecraft and made a single orbit of the Earth to become the first human being in space. This is one of the first three stamps that the Soviet Union issued to commemorate Gagarin's flight.
The Soviet military attaché gave this item to the museum.
