Summary

The H-4, known as "The Spruce Goose," lands off the coast of California on November 2, 1947. The famed seaplane was built by Howard Hughes. It was completed in 1946 and cost an astonishing $23 million. The plane was built during World War II, and was the largest seaplane ever made. Its wing span was 320 feet long, and it could carry around 700 passengers. The plane was completed after the war but was never put into production.
