Summary
This spacefood package contains sugared cornflakes and was flown on the Apollo 11 mission in July 1969. However, as it was not consumed during the mission, it was returned to Earth.
The package required the addition of 3 ounces of cold water prior to consumption. Food for spaceflight had to be nutritious, lightweight and have the ability to be compressed when possible. For the early missions, it also had to be stored without refrigeration and have the ability to be eaten under weightless conditions.
Transferred from NASA to the National Air and Space Museum in 1984.
