    Summary

These malted milk tablets were made for John Glenn's Mercury "Friendship 7" mission in February 1962. The tablet form enabled easy storage and transfer from the package to the mouth, and were intended to provide the astronaut with a quick energy boost as well as ease his hunger.
They were made for the USAF by Louis Jokay, and transferred from NASA to the National Air and Space Museum in 1987.
