Object Details
Summary
Nuts, dried fruits, cookies, and candy are typical Shuttle-era snack items. Unlike perishable meal foods that must be dehydrated or irradiated to avoid spoiling, store-bought snack foods are simply repackaged into individual portions without such processing. Astronauts enjoy the snacks in their natural form. This item was returned from the STS-27 Space Shuttle mission (Atlantis) in 1988, at which time NASA transferred it to the Museum.
