Description
“A Sense of Discovery” was produced by Paul B. Johnson, Smithsonian’s Office of Telecommunications, about the National Museum of American Art. The 28-minute film was completed in 1980 and was intended to encourage art appreciation. Most of the footage is of events and objects at the National Museum of American Art (now the Smithsonian American Art Museum). The film was awarded the CINE Golden Eagle for excellence and the Emmy for cinematography by the National Academy of Television Art and Sciences, Washington Chapter.
