Collection History

Created during a Manpower and Development Training Act (MDTA) Designer Craftsman Training Project held in Nome, Alaska; purchased by Indian Arts and Crafts Board representatives from the artist through Ronald Senungetuk (Iñupiaq, 1933-2020) of the Extension Center for Arts and Crafts, University of Alaska (Fairbanks, Alaska), in 1965; part of the IACB Headquarters collection (Department of the Interior, Washington, DC) until 2000 when it was transferred to NMAI.
