    Description

    This compact handheld electronic calculator has a metal case and twenty-three round plastic keys. These include ten digit keys, four arithmetic function keys, a decimal point key, a total key, two memory keys, a square root key, a change sign key, a % key, a clear K key, and a clear all key. The on/off switch is right of the top three keys. A mark above it reads: SANYO (/) CX8176L (/) Lithium Batteries Calculator. Behind this is an eight-digit LCD display.
    A mark printed on the back of the calculator reads: SANYO CX-8176L (/) BATTERY: DC 6V (Two Type LF – ½ W (/) Lithium Manganese Batteries.) (/) POWER: 0.001W (/) SERIAL NO. 107194 T (/) SANYO ELECTRIC CO. LTD. (/) MADE IN JAPAN / FABRIQUE AU JAPON BM.
    According to the Panasonic website, the CX-8176L calculator, introduced in 1976, was the first Sanyo product to use Sanyo’s newly developed lithium batteries. Panasonic would acquire a majority ownership of Sanyo in 2009 and made it a totally owned subsidy in 2011.
