Original lobby card for Universal International Pictures’ 1958 motion picture, The Saga of Hemp Brown. Richard Carlson directed this western about Lieutenant Hemp Brown’s struggle to bring ex-sergeant Jed Givens’ gang to justice. Rory Calhoun, Beverly Garland, and John Larch star in this film. This card depicts a variety of action sequences such as fist fights, wagon chases, and the pistols.
Lobby cards were once a popular form of advertisement for motion pictures. The publicity departments of Hollywood studios created cards featuring striking images of their latest films and delivered sets to theatres across the country.
