    Summary

    This is an assembled 1:100 scale flying Saturn 1B rocket model built by Centuri Engineering for retail sale. It is made of balsa, paper, and plastic and with a parachute which deploys at the end of flight can be recovered and reflown. Saturn 1Bs were developed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for the Apollo program. They launched four unmanned flights in the Apollo program, the manned Apollo 7 mission in October 1968, the three crews for the Skylab space station in 1973, and the U.S. astronauts in the Apollo-Soyuz Test Program in 1975.
    Centuri Engineering donated this model to the museum.
