Video Title
River Otters at SERC
Description
North American river otters are largely nocturnal and notoriously shy. But with the help of game cameras set up throughout the campus of the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC), we're learning more about their lives and habits! Watch a remix of river otters eating, playing and resting collected by SERC's game cameras. Fair warning: There's also some footage of otter "latrines." Otters use their poop to send messages to other to other otters—and scientists are use the poop to learn more about the otters' diets. Video created by SERC volunteer Greg Izzi. Game cameras footage collected by SERC education specialist Karen McDonald. Learn more about SERC science at https://serc.si.edu
