Description

This is a reprint of an article by Richard P. Baker that appeared in the Annals of Mathematics, Second Series, vol. 14, no. 3. An inscription on the cover reads: with the compliments of the author (/) R. P. Baker.
Baker (1866-1937), of English birth, was a notable maker of mathematical models as well as a faculty member at the University of Iowa. Several of his models survive in Smithsonian collections.
