Description
Round cap designed by Mae Reeves made from purple tulle gathered and hand sewn to purple jersey fabric so that the tulle completely covers the jersey. Pink and purple dyed feathers are placed intermittently in the tulle and extend beyond it. The feathers have only the top 1 1/2 to 2 inches of the vane, the rest of the barbs having been stripped from the quills. The cap is formed with buckram and lined with pink lace in a floral design. Gold woven tape covered with cream lace trim is sewn around the interior edge of the cap. An ivory fabric designer label with black printed text is adhered to the center back lining that reads: "Mae Reeves / OF / PHILADELPHIA".
