Summary
This olive green pressure suit is a demonstration model of B. F. Goodrich's Mark V. The suit has with one developmental arm, with large convoluted shoulder and elbow hinges; diagonal zipper, two pressure gages and one opening on torso, one pressure gauge on left arm, and one on left leg.
BFG designed the Mark V spacesuit for Project Apollo during the early 1960s. The over-sized shoulder joint provided an expanded level of mobility. However, with three astronauts sitting side-by-side in a capsule the size of the front seat of a small car, the suit was not feasible for the Apollo mission.
NASA transferred this suit to the Museum.
