Summary
This developmental, full pressure suit was part of a series of pressure suits developed by B.F. Goodrich in the early and middle 1950s. The advanced features of this suit included the ability of the wearer to walk erect and sit while the suit was pressurized. This feature was developed as earlier suits had a tendency to open a gusset zipper while seated in an aircraft, and this was difficult to close. Another feature was the zippered sizing adjustments and a bayonet-type helmet/neck disconnect.
The US Navy, Naval Air Material Center transferred this suit to the National Air and Space Museum in 1956.
