Description
Photographic postcard of an unidentified World War I soldier. The soldier stands holding a rifle, pointing upward, in full uniform. He is looking directly forward and standing facing the camera. He is wearing a brimmed hat and an ammunition belt with multiple pockets and a sheathed bayonet. He is standing in front of a large tree with leaves and branches on the floor. The image is vertical while the postcard is horizontal. The top has the words, [POST CARD] in large outlined letters. Underneath are the words, [CORRESPONDENCE] on the left, and [NAME AND ADDRESS] on the right. Written below in graphite is the inscription, [Mollie Stephens McGill / Shelbyville, Tenn / Bat 395].
