A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of a man participating in the March on Washington, August 28, 1963. The man is centrally depicted wearing a white button down shirt and a medium toned plaid jacket. He is facing the viewer with his hands cupped around his open mouth. Surrounding the man are several participants; some holding partially obscured protest signs.

On the verso of the image are handwritten inscriptions that provide publication information, image date, event information, location, image number, the name of the printer, and the signature of the donor. There are also three (3) stamp marks in black ink in the bottom right corner of the verso.
