Description
Digital pigment print of an untitled photograph by Seren Kohen of a group of a street in a Jewish neighborhood in New York City. Taken from the street's sidewalk, the photo shows a group of people walking, cars driving, and the businesses on the other side of the street. Two of the men on the sidewalk are wearing shtreimels, broad cylindrical fur hats, and have the characteristic hair curls beside their ears. One is pushing a baby carriage with two infants and the other is carrying a shopping bag. A group of children in traditional Hasidic hats and coats stand in the road at the photo's lower left. One of the cars in the street has stickers with Hebrew writing on its back window, and is trailed by two oddly dressed men, possibly clowns. Among the stores on the street are a fish market, hardware store, and a shoe store.
