Featuring articles by sportswriters Stan Baumgartner, Frank Yeutter and Lans McCurley, the ten-cent program has an advertisement for the Philco 1150 television on its cover.
In 1949, the “Fightin’ Phillies” finished third in the National League with an 81-73 record. Led by Manager Eddie Sawyer, the team featured future Baseball Hall of Fame inductees Richie Ashburn (outfield) and Robin Roberts (pitcher).
