    Description

    Rectangular, with rounded edges, featuring white enameled reserve with black enameled calender numbers, 1 through 31. Above, on lid front, is open window through which a rotating, adjustable, 7-sided, bone rod with first letters of the days of the week may be viewed. Lid opens in two opposite places; its thin, flat top hinged on upper right; when flipped up, compartment containing adjustable bone rod is revealed. Lid hinged again on upper left, below open window, and above calender, accessing match container. Reverse features inscription "Manchester Ship Canal, Opening for Traffic, Souvenir, Cunard SS Skirmisher, 1st Jan.y 1894, J.D. Macgregor". Striker on bottom. Seperate black leather case lined in blue velvet.
