Washington, George
Hoover, Herbert
Description
This iron paperweight is designed to look like a pile of 29 coins each of which is stamped with the inauguration year of one of the presidents of the United States. The top coin features both George Washington and Herbert Hoover, the 1928 Republican presidential nominee. The pile seems to be one coin short because when Hoover won he became the 31st president. But it was not a mistake; Grover Cleveland was given just one coin in the pile to represent his two non-consecutive terms in office.
