This object of Americana is a large rough hewn hand made wood model of the Spirit of St. Louis a single engine high wing monoplane. There is a silver and grey metal paint scheme overall with the tires and engine cylinders painted in flat black, the propeller is unpainted wood. Painted on the engine cowling is the text "Spirit of St. Louis" On the wings top surface is the registration number "N-X-211", on the rudder is the name of the aircraft manufacturer "Ryan" with the registration number "N-X-211" below.

On May 20-21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh literally flew into history when he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in his Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, thus becoming the first pilot to fly solo and nonstop from New York to Paris.
