Description

This is a black and white photograph of Ntozake Shange. The image is blurred with movement; Shange appears to rock back and forth. She is seated wearing a dark dress with large, embroidered sleeves. Light and reflective surfaces surround Shange, giving the image a dream-like quality. Shange sits looking down with her hands in her lap. The image is bordered in a narrow black line from the original negative frame. The image is on a white background. Below the image at the bottom of the sheet is hand-written black text listing the title, date, and artist's signature.
