Notepad, Lindbergh, King Collection

A notebook that flips open towards the top of the sheet. A thick piece of board creates the backing for the book and does not come with any text on it but there are notes from the owner of this pad written on both sides of the board. The front cover of the book has an image of Lindbergh standing in front of the Spirit of St. Louis in boots, pants and a jacket. The text "OUR FLIER NEW YORK TO PARIS" is located below the image in a box with a black outline. The pad is held together by glue attached to a brown strip of paper at the top of the notebook. The inside of the notebook has lined paper with various notes written.

On May 20-21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh literally flew into history when he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in his Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, thus becoming the first pilot to fly solo and nonstop from New York to Paris. This flight made Lindbergh a household name and catapulted him into fame and celebrity.
