Summary

Among the items issued to astronauts are velcro-backed leather name tags that can be attached to flight suits. This name tag is a spare for Shuttle astronaut Robert L. "Hoot" Gibson, who was the pilot for STS 41-B and commander of STS 61-C, STS-27, STS-47, and STS-71.

NASA transferred a number of spare astronaut name tags to the Museum over the years, including this one in 2001.
