Description
Landscape sketch showing a distant view of the stratovolcano known as Chimborazo in Ecuador. The foreground is a loosely rendered assemblage of green vegetation, and lower center, and brown terrain with grass, at right. Dark brown, rugged foothills stretch across the middle distance and into the background, where the snow-capped peak of Chimborazo looms over the landscape. Ridges and rocky outcroppings are clearly delineated throughout the snowy, pyramidal summit. Above, gray and white puffy clouds hang in an otherwise blue and open sky. Creamy gray ground color visible along the lower margin.
