Summary

This a retail package of Centuri Engineering metal igniter wires and plastic discs from 1968. A single wire is inserted into the aft end of a flying rocket motor and held in place by a disc and tape. Additional wires run between it and the launch control mechanism. An electrical charge is sent through the wires to ignite the motor's non-explosive propellant. G. Harry Stine, a pioneer in the field of flying rocket models, donated this artifact to NASM in 1973.
