Summary
This is a model of unknown scale of the Air Intercept Missile 54A (AIM-54A), the earliest version of several Phoenix air-to-air missiles used exclusively on the U.S. Navy's F-14 Tomcat. It has a solid-fuel motor, a maximum speed of Mach 3.8, a range of over 115 miles, a conventional warhead, and is radar guided. First deployed in 1974, there are a limited number of AIM-54As still in service.
The model's manufacturer is unknown. John and Cynthia Heyde donated it to the museum.
