Summary

This is a model of unknown scale of the HAST (high-altitude supersonic target), developed by Beech Aircraft for the U.S. military during the 1970s as a target for missiles fired from U.S. ranges. It flew at a maximum speed of Mach 4 and at an altitude in excess of 100,000 feet. The missile was guided by pre-launch programming and ground control. This artifact was donated by John and Cynthia Heyde to NASM on an unknown date.
