Wooden model mummy coffin with shabti inside; almost certainly authentic. Probably late 18th - early 19th Dynasty, based on carving of the coffin. Shabti is covered with bitumen; lots of funerary objects are bitumen-treated. The black color was symbolic of resurrection to the Egyptians, and bitumen also had preservative powers.
