United States Distinguished Flying Cross; Obverse: bronze four bladed propeller depicted with square sunburst; Reverse: inscribed text "GLENN CURTISS"; blue silk ribbon with vertical red center stripe with two white stripes, two vertical white edge stripes.

Summary

The Distinguished Flying Cross was established by Presidential order on January 28, 1927. The medal is awarded to United States Military personnel for heroism or extraordinary achievement during an aerial flight.
