Summary
This aluminum medal struck by the Lombardo Mint in Canada commemorates the Apollo 12 mission, the sixth human spaceflight and the second lunar landing in the Apollo program. Apollo 12 was launched on November 14, 1969, and returned to Earth ten days later. Charles Conrad, Jr., Richard Gordon, Jr., and Alan Bean were the astronauts; their faces are on the front of the medal. As with most other medals commemorating human spaceflight achievements, this medal was made for commercial sale.
It was donated by Thomas Becker to the National Air and Space Museum in 1973.
