New Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam
Description
Known informally as "The Mobe" The New Mobilization Committee was a coalition of activists that organized large demonstrations to oppose the war. During the March Against Death each protestor carried a candle and a sign that bore the name of US serviceman or civilian killed or a village destroyed by the war. At the Capitol the signs were placed in coffins, the coffins were then carried down Pennsylvania Avenue.
