Description
Large bronze clock; center part made up of large vase with round ring handles; acanthus and laurel leaves. Dial painted with small flowers on white enamel. On each side of the vase is a female figure; one holding a terrestrial glob (Geography), the other holding a scroll (Literature). The plinth on which the two figures are seated is decorated with chiseled plaques in front showing cupids and decorative motifs. The clock sits on a large red marble stand.
