Description
Landscape sketch showing a view of dense woods in Maine, possibly on Mt. Desert Island. The foreground is comprised of fallen trees and other indistinct detritus on the forest floor. A grove of trees--including two with tall trunks--dominates the scene at center and center right. The tree at far right appears to have several broken branches. The open sky above has a warm tint due to the brick-colored ground.
