Summary
In anticipation of a possible emergency landing or mission abort, each spacecraft was equipped with a series of emergency/survival rucksacks. This combination flashlight was an important part of the rucksack flown on the Apollo 15 lunar landing mission. It has a flashlight, compass, mirror, four fishing hooks, needles and a knife blade. It is made of grey-painted steel with brass fittings, and was made for NASA by ACR Electronics.
The emergency light was transferred by NASA to the Museum with the Apollo 15 rucksack in 1978.
