TAN-COLORED LID OF CANOPIC JAR DEPICTS CARVED FACE W/ DETAILED FACIAL FEATURES AND EARS. SURFACE HEAVILY CHIPPED AND ABRADED ALL OVER.

From NMNH Exhibit Hall "Eternal Life in Ancient Egypt" label for this artifact, 2011: Canopic jar lid, limestone, c. 380-342 BC. Lids of canopic jars represented the four Sons of Horus. The human head of Imsety, protector of the liver, sits atop this lid.
