Description
Before paper bumper stickers were invented, cars were decorated with metal bumper signs or license plate attachments. This license plate attachment promoting the re-election of President Franklin D. Roosevelt was probably issued during his second campaign in 1936 when he defeated Republican Alf Landon, governor of Kansas. FDR was re-elected two more times in 1940 and 1944.
