Summary
This Canon lens provided the means to obtain essential photographic data for Project Gemini technical program requirements, such as recording horizon airglow and weather. The lenses were employed with Maurer 70mm cameras throughout the Gemini program. The lens barrel is anodized red for ease of identification. This f/0.95 lens, when used with suitable film and camera, made very high speed photography possible. The lens is designed to work with 35mm film.
NASA transferred this lens to the Museum in 1971.
